BIO

Bill Zito is serving as a general manager for a U.S. Men’s National Team for the first time. Zito, who is also a member of USA Hockey’s international council, previously served on the management staff for the 2015 U.S. Men’s National Team that claimed a bronze medal at the 2015 IIHF Men’s World Championship in Ostrava and Prague, Czech Republic.

Currently, Zito is the assistant general manager of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets and also holds the role of general manager for the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters. Zito joined the Blue Jackets in the summer of 2013 before adding his role with the Monsters two years later. Since his arrival, Zito has helped the Blue Jackets to three Stanley Cup Playoffs berths while his debut season with the Monsters saw the organization claim its first Calder Cup championship in franchise history in 2015-16.

Prior to joining the Blue Jackets organization, Zito spent two decades building Acme World Sports into one of the top hockey agencies in the world by uncovering late-round or undrafted, lesser-known players, as well as the top picks. As the agency’s founder and president, his list of clients included: John Madden, Brian Rafalski, Tuukka Rask, Kimmo Timonen, 2013 Vezina Trophy finalist Antti Niemi and former Vezina Trophy and Conn Smythe Award winner Tim Thomas.

Zito is a graduate of Yale University where he played varsity hockey from 1984-87. He then attended law school at the University of Wisconsin and during that time served as an assistant coach for the Badgers hockey team. Upon earning his law degree, he went on to practice at major firms in New York and Chicago before founding Acme World Sports, LLC, in 1995.

Zito and his wife, Julie, are the parents of twin daughters, Gigi and Frankie, and son, Billy.

Jill Zeller has worked with various teams and camps for USA Hockey during her career. She is CSCS and SCCC certified.

Zeller has been involved with Team USA since 2012, working numerous development camps, U18 World Championship tournaments and national team camps.

She is currently a strength coach for Boston University and works at Body By Boyle in Massachusetts during the summer months.

A native of Newton Massachusetts, Zeller got her undergraduate degree at James Madison University in Exercise Science and her graduate degree in coaching education at BU.

Yani Zinis, D.O., Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is serving as a team physician for USA Hockey for the sixth time. In addition to serving on the staff of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team, Zinis has been a part of three U.S. Men’s National Teams (2005, 2007, 2012) and one Deutschland Cup team (2004). 

Dr. Zinis was a staff physician for the United States Olympic Committee at the 2005 Summer World University Games in Turkey. He also contributed to Team USA at the 2008 Summer Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. USA Basketball has also utilized Zinis as a team physician. 

He has been a consulting physician for the National Hockey League's Colorado Avalanche since 1996. He also held the same role for the National Basketball Association's Denver Nuggets from 1996-2009.

Dr. Zinis has been in practice at Orthopedic Associates in Denver, Colorado, since 1996. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College. Zinis then attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a rotating internship through Sun Coast Hospital in Florida. His Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency was at the University of Colorado Health Science Center.

Dr. Zinis and his, Kristin, reside in Denver, Colorado, with their three daughters, Sofia, Gabrielle and Stella.

David Zeis is serving as an athletic trainer on a U.S Men’s National Team for the first time. 

Zeis recently completed his 11th season as head athletic trainer for the NHL’s Dallas Stars, a role he has held since 2007. Prior to that, he spent seven seasons as the head athletic trainer for the Columbia Inferno and Pee Dee Pride of the East Coast Hockey League.

Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association since 1995, Zeis is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Zeis earned a bachelor of science degree from SUNY Brockport in New York where he also played collegiate hockey. He also worked at University Sports Medicine at the University of Buffalo from 1993-95 as a clinical therapist and research coordinator.

Zeis and his wife, Michelle, live in Prosper, Texas, with their son, Brendon.

Shannon Zaporski has been involved with USA Hockey since 2017 and is serving as the team dietitian of the U.S. Under-18 Women's National Team for her second Under-18 IIHF Women's World Championship. In her role she helped guide the U18 team to a gold medal at the U18 IIHF WWC in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Zaporski is a registered dietitian originally from Shelby Township, Michigan. She works at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, where she specializes in pediatric nutrition. She previously worked as a sports dietitian with the Grand Rapids Drive, Michigan State University, and as graduate assistant in sports nutrition at the University of Mississippi.

 

Andrew Zagorianakos is serving as equipment manager for the U.S Under-18 Men’s Select Team for the first time. He previously served as equipment manager for the U.S. Women's National and U18 Teams, and the U.S. Under-17 Select Team for the 2021 Five Nations Tournament. 

The Providence County, Rhode Island, native, will enter his ninth season as equipment manager at at Providence College in 2023-24. Prior to Providence, Zagorianakos served as an assistant equipment manager at Boston College. In three seasons at BC (2013-15), he oversaw the equipment needs for the women's ice hockey team, as well as field hockey, women's lacrosse, men's and women's cross country and track, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's fencing, and sailing.

Zagorianakos graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in kinesiology and physical education with a concentration in business administration. At Maine, Zagorianakos worked as an assistant equipment manager for the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams and assisted in game management for other events.
